Olujimi Dance, is a contemporary dance company based out of Miami, Florida (United States of America), was established in 2012 by Founder and Artistic Director, Michelle Grant-Murray. The name of the company, Olujimi (a-loo-gee-me), is a Yoruba word meaning “given by God '' and was inspired by the authentic gifts and talents imparted by the divine feminine of African ancestry. ODT produces choreographic dance works that support the embodied intersectionality of the Radical Black Female Body, humanity, sustainability, ecology, education, and innovation. The company is centered around the conservation, preservation, creation and thought provoking work that evokes and promotes healthy, physical, mental, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual beings. We are truth tellers, narrators, storytellers and Sankofa magnetic beings.
